To be fair, Kev uses the library a lot and I use my Kindle, still new books seem to find there way home.
Move to my closet for a look and I can brag. It is "stripped down". I have a sense of freedom when I get rid of stuff.Barbara Suscohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11940105580085106413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4527343833432500501.post-72258161258555024292011-05-16T05:41:38.424-07:002011-05-16T05:41:38.424-07:00Ach! BUT - I'm really interested in your thoughts about stripping our lives back to the necessary - because several spiritual disciplines inform us that is one of the stages of a life well lived . . .
all best to you,
-g-Maggidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00857424986925369274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4527343833432500501.post-25698224984678560802011-05-15T13:06:29.427-07:002011-05-15T13:06:29.427-07:00I wish I had a culling strategy; I'm working o...I wish I had a culling strategy; I'm working on it. I too have too many books—one wall of the living room, my office, the hallways, our sons' old bedrooms, closets, the dining room, the attic!

I have one advantage. I don't mark them up. My father was a research librarian and I cannot write in books—in my entire life I have not written in more than a half dozen books.

Clearing my mother's house was a nightmare and my husband and I are hopeful that we won't leave another terrible mess for the next generation to clean up. I have one 5' bookscase with my all time favorites, another with antiques, a third with the cook books books I use most often. In theory, I think I could cull my books down to about 40 linear feet. If anyone reading this thinks that isn't impressive, they do not already own "too many books."Jan Priddy, Oregonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06107172381368544145noreply@blogger.com
